## Two rules this section follows

**A document has one owner.** Where something lives in another repository it is indexed and linked, never copied — a second copy is a disagreement waiting to happen. Where something exists *only* in the Internet Archive, this repository is now its home, and every item says which of the two it is.

**State the gaps.** The archive page lists what could not be recovered as prominently as what could. A recovery that does not say what it lost is not a recovery, and the list is the honest measure of how much of the original is gone for good.
